APPLICATION PERFORMANCE AND TUNING WORKSHOP

Daresbury Laboratory
Thursday 12th October 2006

Registration is now open for a one day Workshop on Application
Performance and Tuning to be held at CCLRC Daresbury Laboratory  on
Thursday 12 October 2006.  Please register now!

The workshop is open to all members of the HPC community - academic
and commercial - and is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs
will not, however, be covered.

The programme will cover topics such as benchmarking and performance
evaluation, profiling methods, an overview of current software tools,
demonstrations by staff from HPCx, CCLRC and Intel, plus  hands-on
sessions for attendees.

THE HPC EUROPEAN USER FORUM

Midland Hotel, Manchester, 26th and 27th October 2006

The HPC User Forum is an initiative developed by IDC to promote the
interests of HPC (High Performance Computing) users in industry,
government and academia. HPC User Forum is an extension of IDC's
long-standing commitment to the global HPC community. Attendance is
free but places must be reserved through registration via the web site

* Hardware vendors update talks including Cray, IBM, Intel, HP, Bull
  and Panasus.

* HPC service providers including Terry Hewitt from the University of
  Manchester, Martyn Guest from HPCx, Jim Kasdorf from PSC, Paul
  Buerger from OSC, Paul Munzio from AHPHRC and Ben Ralston from AWE.

* Researchers into HPC including John Gurd from the University of
  Manchester and Christine Kitchen from Daresbury.

* Researchers who use HPC for various application areas including
  weather forecasting (UK Met Office); space radiation fields (NASA);
  and dynamic mesh generation for fluid structure interaction
  (AHPHRC).
