The competition, "HPC Prizes" will be open to researchers from all Research Councils who have used the national services in the previous year (all classes of access). For this year's competition the period will be from 1 April 2003 until 31 March 2004. The Competition Up to four prizes of £2,000 will be awarded, to be used by the nominated individual or group to further their research. The prizes will be awarded in any or all of the following categories: * Machine utilisation; * Application improvement; * Novel usage of the machine; * Training provision Nomination Individuals or groups are invited to nominate themselves by submitting a two-page case supporting their nomination to Deborah Miller, High End Computing, EPSRC by 6th September 2004. The nomination should provide details of the nominated activity and how this had contributed to improving usage of the national HPC facilities. Assessment The nominations will considered by the High End Computing Strategy Committee and applicants will be notified of the outcome by 1st November 2004. Awarding It is intended that the HPC Prizes will be awarded at the HPC Users' Meeting planned for Spring 2005.
