Tomorrow, 20 July 2005 at 12:30, we will be holding a meeting of the HPCx User Group. (Please note the time, which I forgot to mention in my last mailing.) The meeting will take place over the Access Grid, and will start with two short presentations: David Henty: Task farms. Using task farms on HPCx is a topic which several people have enquired about recently. David will be discussing techniques, and pros and cons. Ian Bush: xlf ver 9 Ian will be discussing the Fortran 2000 features in the new release of xlf. This new release is a major upgrade with many new features, which are well worth hearing about. There will also be a chance for you to raise any concerns you may have, and to give us your opinions and suggestions. Senior members of HPCx staff, including the systems group, will take part. Here is a list of Access Grid nodes in the UK: http://www.agsc.ja.net/QAtesting/QApasses.php We shall use the "University of Edinburgh (EPCC)" venue at the AGSC venue server (www.agsc.ja.net).
