As members of the HPC-UK consortium, the HPCx and CSAR services are collaborating to run a one-day workshop to provide training on the differences between the two systems and hands-on help in porting codes. The course tutors will be experienced members of the CSAR and HPCx staff. The course will cover the Phase 2A architecture and optimisation techniques (especially differences from the earlier POWER4 architecture), and will also present initial results on the new system. To register for this course, please use the standard form. Numbers are very limited. Please register before March 16, since site security require a list of those attending in advance. The second DEISA Symposium will be held in Bologna, Italy, on the 4th and 5th of May, 2006. This is the second in a series that will take place every year in late spring in different locations around Europe. The purpose is to maintain an annual DEISA event dedicated to the discussion of the scientific and strategic challenges in the area of high performance computing, and to assess the impact of the DEISA research infrastructure on computational science in Europe.
