This course will focus on tools and techniques for achieving optimal scaling on HPCx. The course will cover techniques for optimising inter and intra-node communication, such as: overlapping communication; cluster aware message passing; mixed mode programming and processor mapping. Tools for profiling communication patterns will be considered, as will a range of additional topics such as effective IO and memory usage.
The course is delivered as an intensive one-day module, and is taught using a variety of methods including formal lectures, practical exercises, programming examples and informal tutorial discussions.
