|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Many users will be looking to migrate their work to HPCx when the CSAR service closes at the end of June this year. As members of the HPC-UK consortium, the HPCx and CSAR services are collaborating to run a one-day workshop to provide training on the differences between the two systems and hands-on help in porting codes. The course tutors will be experienced members of the CSAR and HPCx staff.
The morning will comprise a set of lectures and short practicals covering the following topics:
The afternoon will take the form of a hands-on consultancy session where users can try out their codes on HPCx and discuss any issues. Members of HPCx and CSAR staff will be available to give technical advice.
The course is intended for current users of CSAR, and experience in using the CSAR machines is essential.
The course will take place in the Lascelles-Williams Room of the Manchester Computing Building. Maps and details regarding visiting Manchester Computing can be found on the Visiting Manchester Computing webpage.
The course will run from 09:30 to 17:00 on Thursday, 25 May 2006.
